Wedneday, 19 September 2012
The BTC were honoured to host a drinks reception for Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet and Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. Around 45 Barnet Tamil constituents and a few members of the BTC were delighted to meet with Theresa and Lee Scott, MP Ilford North and Hon. Patron of the BTC.
Dr. Arjuna Sivananthan, Deputy Chairman of the BTC started off the formal part of the evening with introductions and a short update of the work the BTC have been engaged in. Lee Scott updated the Constituents on the work done in Parliament and UN on behalf of the Tamil Community. Theresa encouraged the BTC to continue it’s work and for constituents to join the party and take an active role in the community.
Theresa was able to meet with all the constituents individually and the some of her young constituents who are a part of the BTC youth were thrilled to be able to talk to her.
The British Tamil Conservatives wish Theresa the very best in her new job and we hope to further engage with the local Conservative association and help with its activities
